A Shropshire company has been appointed one of only 24 distributors in the UK for an innovative shrink wrap product.
Oswestry-based Agritel, which supplies a variety of industrial and agricultural packaging materials, associated tooling and machines to companies throughout the West Midlands and Wales, is now approved to sell Mimalite.
The product is thin but strong pallet wrapping plastic. With a slippery surface on one side to ease loading and unloading onto trucks and at twice the length of normal films, it creates a "steel band" effect to prevent goods moving or becoming unstable in transit.
John Duffus, Managing Director at Agritel, said he expected a good response from his customers. "We ar very pleased to be appointed a distributor for Mimalite. It is 100 per cent recyclable, additive-free and fulfils all European waste management directives.
"For example, Marches Natural Food Products in Ludlow has just started using machine wrap Mimalite and already they've seen a 60 per cent reduction in the amount of packaging applied. So, in addition to being environmentally friendly, it will save our customers money."
